How much physical activity should you do?
For health benefits, the current Australian Physical Activity Guidlelines are for every adult to accumulate modrerate levels of physical activity for 30 minutes on most days of the week (Dep. of Health and Ageing, 1999, N.P.A.G. for Australia)
For weight loss and management, longer periods of moderate physical activity of at least 45-60 minutes of exercise should be perfomed on a daily basis and for shorter durations if you pariticipate in vigorous activity.
